Empowering Women Who Lead - Financially and Beyond
How can we help you?
You lead at work. You lead at home. Now lead with confidence in your financial future.
Hi! We are Ballast Point Financial Planning, an independent fee-only practice dedicated to helping breadwinning women - the trailblazers, decision-makers, and financial leaders of their households.
You’re navigating complex responsibilities, balancing career, family, and personal goals. We understand your financial life doesn’t fit a traditional mold and it shouldn’t have to.
Ballast Point has tailored our services to meet your unique needs. We understand that not only are you often the primary earner, but also the primary caregiver, planner, and long-term thinker. There is a hidden tax you pay with all this mental load.
We believe financial planning should reflect who you are and where you’re going. That’s why we offer tailored strategies to meet your real-world challenges. From optimizing income and benefits to planning for retirement, supporting your family, and investing in what matters to you.
What you can expect from working with us:
A judgement-free space where your voice leads the conversation.
Smart, personalized strategies designed for complexity, not assumptions.
A long-term partner who sees you more than just numbers - we see your vision.
Further, we have found it extremely difficult to find qualified tax professionals to help us with our tax returns. Even harder is finding a tax expert who is forward-looking. We knew there was a better solution. So we went out and created it. We offer financial planning, tax planning and preparation, and investment management all under one roof.
We were founded by Shawn Tydlaska, CFP®, MBA in 2016 who had a vision to use personal finance as a tool for empowerment.
Our clients work at companies such as:
